New development of cold storage facility to bring 90 jobs to area<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Berkshire Refrigerated Warehousing, LLC announced plans to build a 200,000-square-foot refrigerated warehousing facility in the Northeast Ohio Region, creating 90 new jobs. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD)<\/a> approved the project for tax credit assistance at its meeting today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facility is the company\u2019s first in Ohio. It will benefit businesses in the food service industry by providing a cold storage solution to ensure perishable products are maintained in a reliable environment. The Village of Sheffield<\/a> site will service customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited that our project has become a reality,\u201d said Berkshire Refrigerated Warehousing, LLC President Ted E. Grzywacz. \u201cAfter months of research, we chose the Village of Sheffield because of its strategic location and the assistance of the Village, County, and State in helping us to ensure a successful venture. The location afforded us with all of the necessary components to provide quality and efficient service to our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with the Lorain County Commissioners<\/a>, the Village of Sheffield<\/a>, JobsOhio<\/a>, and ODOD<\/a>, Team NEO<\/a> worked collaboratively with Berkshire Refrigerated Warehousing, LLC leadership to build the case for building the facility in the Northeast Ohio Region versus other states where they currently have operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis will be an asset for the Village and would bring 90 needed jobs,\u201d said Mayor John D. Hunter<\/a>, \u201chigh paying and with benefits!\u201d It will be a great fit for the area of North Abbe Road and for Sheffield Village.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
