New facility will bring 220 new jobs to the Northeast Ohio Region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

International Food Solutions, Inc.<\/a>, a leader in pre-made ethnic-focused food solutions including Asian, Indian, Latin, and Mediterranean, received approval from the Ohio Department of Development (ODO) for tax credit assistance during its meeting today to open a production facility in Cleveland, investing more than $65 million and creating 220 new jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Food Solutions will join Northeast Ohio\u2019s thriving food processing and manufacturing community, which currently includes more than 500 food processors and more than 200 food packaging providers. Subject to obtaining all necessary approvals, International Food Solutions plans to renovate and construct a 120,000-square-foot poultry-processing facility at a vacant building location at East 55th<\/sup> & Central Ave. The company will utilize the facility to service its existing school district customers as part of the USDA school lunch program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled  to receive approval from the Tax Credit Authority. This approval brings our project one step closer to moving forward,\u201d  said Lincoln Yee, Co-President of International Food Solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, International Food Solutions utilizes a processing facility out of state to meet its customer needs.  A team consisting of members of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, ODOD, JobsOhio, and Team NEO worked with International Foods Solutions to provide the business case for relocating these operations to the Northeast Ohio Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to new job creation and capital improvements, the project is noteworthy for the company\u2019s investment in both the community and the significant benefits it offers new hires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis project will not only create over 220 new jobs in our growing food processing industry, it also represents a massive investment in the Central neighborhood,\u201d said Mayor Justin M. Bibb. \u201cWe are also grateful for International Food Solutions\u2019 commitment to a comprehensive community benefits agreement that represents a new gold standard for employees and neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economic development leaders point to the collaborative nature of the efforts to win the project, as well as the region\u2019s strong food production sector as reasons why International Food Solutions chose the Northeast Ohio Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
