Plans for production and cold storage facility to accommodate growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vienna Beef Ltd.<\/a>, a food processor and distributor known for its classic Chicago-style hot dogs, as well as Polish sausage, Italian beef and authentic fixings has announced plans to open a pickle production and cold storage facility in Tuscarawas County, creating 51 new jobs. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for tax credit assistance during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While best known for their premium Chicagoland deli meats, the company has experienced rising demand for refrigerated pickles sold to grocers, restaurants and other food service outlets nationwide. At over 100,000 square feet, the facility at 500 Enterprise Drive in Newcomerstown will provide Vienna Beef with adequate space to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Newcomerstown facility will be the third pickle facility adding to the current locations in California and Florida.  \u201cThe opportunity to add to capacity and locations will allow Vienna Beef to grow the Chipico brand, said Jack Bodman, President & CEO of Vienna Beef. \u201c This Newcomerstown location is a positive addition to the effort, and we welcome the opportunity to work with the local community, farmers, and government to benefit the local economy over the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ohio\u2019s favorable logistics contributed to Vienna Beef\u2019s decision, as this location provides the company with ease of access to existing and new markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


A team consisting of  Tuscarawas Economic Development Corporation, the Village of Newcomerstown, ODOD, JobsOhio, and Team NEO worked with Vienna Beef to ensure the company chose the Northeast Ohio Region for its new facility.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
