It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Andy Jones, a valued Board Member of Team NEO and a true champion of economic and workforce development in Northeast Ohio. Andy’s impact on our region was profound, and his leadership, vision, and dedication will be deeply missed.
As co-chair of the Talent Development Council (TDC) for five years, Andy was instrumental in advancing efforts to build a stronger workforce pipeline, always advocating for innovative solutions to meet the needs of both businesses and job seekers. His commitment to collaboration and progress was evident in the partnership he helped establish between Lorain County Community College (LCCC) and Fortress, creating new pathways for talent development and industry growth.
Marcia Ballinger, President of Lorain County Community College, reflected on his contributions, stating, “Andy was an incredible partner, thought leader, and inspiration. He believed in everyone’s potential to learn and succeed, making him the ideal co-chair for the Talent Development Council.”
Andy’s military background instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, strategic leadership, and operational efficiency. After serving honorably as an Airborne Infantryman in the U.S. Army, he applied his expertise to the private sector, demonstrating the same level of dedication and precision. At Fortress, he played a key role in standardizing service delivery, ensuring clients received solutions swiftly and effectively. His ability to translate military expertise into business success showcased his adaptability and problem-solving skills.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Andy was a trusted colleague, a generous mentor, and a passionate advocate for Northeast Ohio’s economic future. His loss is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
